My lasting memory of Karl was as a kid on a computer with his dad. Karl’s face was so animated and he was bouncing around with excitement at learning and using code. He was such a bright spark taken way too early. We are sending our love, thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. We are always here for you. X x

I met Karl through a small Facebook group dedicated to debate about world politics and culture, and we eventually became friends. His love and adoration for his children, for Janet, and for life always inspired me. His no nonsense mindset, coupled with a keen intelligence and incredible wit made him one of my favorite people to go toe to toe with. It was a hard time in my life, and while never letting me get away with poor arguments, he also became like a brother-figure to me. The first time I traveled solo, internationally, he even came to meet me and taught me how to navigate the tube before I continued my trip. I cherish the time we were in regular contact. You are so missed, dear Karl.

I always enjoyed his intelligence and wit, his unique yet relatable perspective, and his many engaging stories; I deeply admired his personal commitment to integrity, and loved how unabashedly he adored Janet.
